Holistic Health Propsal
“We want a world where life is preserved,
and the quality of life is enriched for everybody, not just the privileged”
(Isabel Alleride). A true enrichment of life is not a simple commodity to come
by. However, through the use of alternative medical methods and modern western
medicine practices, quality of life can be greatly amplified. Resulting in the
so highly sought after highest quality of life. Holistic
medications and treatments should be implemented in modern health care in order
to fulfill the entire aspect of healing. Through the use of alternative means,
a person can receive and all encompassing treatment for whatever health issue
they may be fighting against.
All too often when people encounter an
illness the social “norm” is to visit a medical doctor. This is perfectly
acceptable. A doctor will write up a prescription and within thirty minutes
treatment to become healthy once again begins, however, not all illnesses are
so easily treated. In the unhinged world we as people live in, we are plagued
daily by new threats of becoming very ill. These illnesses cannot be treated by
simply taking a pill; extremely harsh means are used to drive illnesses like
cancer out of the body. Harsh chemicals and threatening treatments could be
avoided if western medicine would prescribe holistic or alternative methods
instead of or even alongside western medicine practices. Holistic and
alternative methods and western medicine alone can do very little, together
though; these two methods can produce much greater results.
The current methods that western medicine
are using are working, although, not for every individual. Many continue to
struggle even after treatments or prescriptions end. This leaves many of the
patients in a medical stage that they redevelop their prior conditions and then
are forced to restart a regiment of treatments and medications that did not
work correctly the first time. Extreme cases are being treated the same way
more simple cases are as well. There is a dosage measurement; however, the
dosage is still rather hard to control regarding a specific person and their
age, weight, height and other individualized measurements. The inability to
alter medications and treatments properly is a huge restraint that medical
professionals have to navigate to treat patients; they have to work around
these limitations. Along with the dosage restraints, superfluous side effects
are a huge disadvantage when trying to treat. Side effects, too, range very
differently in each person and some are unable to cope with the side effects.
The issues that the side effects alone can cause are overshadowing the original
issues.
Another glaring issue regarding the
current methods is the ideas that each individual case varies and there is no
one pill fits all solution. The human body is a complex thing and how each
individual can mentally handle the same situation is vastly different. Some
people can mentally take on more than others, which is why the current method,
such as a universal pill, is so limiting. There is no way to tailor western
drugs to align with an individual body. Along with this idea, western medicine
does not inspire the recipient to use methods of self-healing, which by using
the brain as an extra coping mechanism can greatly improve the individuals
situation however they apply this method.
While it has its limitations western
medicine is making enormous strides in healing. However it is a one sided
healing process and there can be no full healing until the entire issue is
addressed. Chronic aliments can be mentally damaging and no painkiller can
address the continuous damage that a person is incurring by being ill. As an
illness runs its course it is important not only to be rid of the physical
implications, but also to holistically purge the sickness. This means
implementing alternative methods into the daily routine. Holistic methods can
work with western medications and can even allow them to be of more use in the
body. Along with physical improvements holistic methods include the actions of
self-healing, much like faith healing in the areas of the Deep South.
Self-healing simply means being mentally open to the idea of once again
becoming whole, which is an important part of every individuals healing
process. It is an important step in recovery to realize that first, there is
something awry and then secondly, accepting the fact and allowing the mind to
come to terms that this can be resolved and overcome.
It is important in using these methods
also that the attending doctors are open minded as well. If they reject or
dismiss the ideas holistically being instilled, it makes it a conflict of
interests and adds another issue to the list. Holistic practitioners need to be
recognized by medical doctors. In turn these two professionals should work
together to address the symptoms and issues that a specific patient is dealing
with. By allowing the patient to have the social norm of western medicine in
the regiment, and then using holistic medications and therapies as well the
healing process could be greatly sped up. The patient will feel that they are
being addressed as a person and not just another case. This is extremely
important because as physical beings, we heal the very most when we are
nurtured in both a physical and emotionally enveloping method. It’s important
that the person under treatment feels that their health is of the utmost
importance. By allowing both the doctor and holistic practitioner to caudle the
patient, the healing process is indeed sped up.
In order for individuals struggling with
chronic illnesses, disease, and other physical ailments to gain their beginning
health, holistic methods need to be recognized and prescribed. Western methods
are not changing as rapidly as they used to and modern ideas are dangerous and
require lots of time to mature. Holistic medicine in some forms has been around
for centuries. Many practices are old and ancient ideas, this does not mean
they have soured with age; on the contrary age has made these ideas even more
valuable. Returning to the original ideas and methods is the easiest way to
gain health. Holistic healing involves methods that are pure and natural. We
live in a very technologically advanced world with new issues like pollution,
radiation, and chemical vapors. These new issues are deteriorating our bodies,
minds, and spirits. In order for a person to become whole in this day and age
the purest methods should be considered. Physically ingesting more chemically altered
pills to make our bodies feel better is not going to bring about the results
one is looking for. Holistic medicine, with its most basic methods, allows the
body to gain back its true potential, through the use of natural substances and
self-generated healing. Along with treating with natural methods many holistic
treatments are available that actually rid the body of the harmful amount of
toxins that accumulate in the body. In essence the best medicine in holistic
methods is prevention.
It is not during the times of health that
health is considered so important; it is during the times of pain and sickness
that health is deemed more important than all other things. Western medicine
with its continuing advancement and holistic medicine with its natural and pure
methods combined can bring back the truest meaning of the word health. The
combination of the two working in conjunction will allow the body to gain its
greatest potential. Holistic medicine will continue to gain favor and as it
does western medicine will only be able to help heal more with holistic
medicine as its conductor.

Alternative Medicine Methods Report
In our advancing medical
field, methods of healing that have been around since the most ancient of
civilizations began are becoming prevalent in the fight against new diseases
and illnesses. Alternative methods are being utilized to incur a more rapid and
long lasting overall state of health. These methods, however, can and should be
used on a much larger scale than they are at this time. In an article from the
Military Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal of Serbia and Montenegro the author
expands on how patients suffering from gastrointestinal cancer are
experimenting and using alternative or holistic methods alongside the variable
treatments. The author also relays the information that those using alternative
methods reported having a much better healing process and recovery rate and in
some cases earlier remission of cancer (Nikolic, Ivan). This article is just
one example of how the use of holistic or alternative methods, even when used
in the treatment of cancer, are helping to speed up and aide in the healing
process in more ways than western medicine can do alone. Several holistic
methods that are gaining favor at this time include, natural herbal
medications, magnetically induced cellular exercise or MICE treatments, and the
use of hypnotherapy or self-hypnosis.
The most prevalently used
of alternative medicines and treatments is the use of herbal medications and
oils. By starting with 100% naturally occurring remedies the user can make use
of every part of the medication. As these medications naturally occur and are
not tampered with, dyed, or bleached, the body is able use every part of the
medication within the body as well. That means there are no byproduct
substances left over. The body is able to process all parts of the medication.
This, in turn, means there are no harmful side effects will detract from the
real underlying issue being treated. Herbal medications allow the user to feel
relief from the root problem without having to trade for another side effect
that a western medicine pharmaceutical may produce. Another positive effect
that herbal medications introduce is the fact that not all supplements have to
be taken orally. Many come in various forms, such as creams, drops, or oils
that can be used very easily on a daily basis, several times a day even, which
allows the user to feel the effects throughout the day in full force. Other
positive factors include the ability take, ingest or apply medications without
having to worry about a schedule. The supplements can be taken whenever and
wherever, regardless of when you have eaten as well.
Another substantial and albeit different stride that has been made in holistic
medicine is the use and practice of Magnetically Induced Cellular Exercise or
MICE. This new treatment uses magnetic pulsations to realign the body’s
cellular order. When the body receives trauma or illness the cells are
disrupted and by realigning them we are able to allow the body to heal itself
by returning to its previous state. Much like an e-stem machine used to trigger
muscles functions, MICE triggers the cells to react. Our cells are what help to
maintain a correct and properly functioning internal system, when the cells are
not stimulated the healing process is much slower. MICE therapy can be used to
treat almost anything because it is a very gentle therapy patients of all ages
are encouraged to be treated. MICE can even be used on those that have received
brain trauma or trauma of internal organs. When used as a continuous therapy,
MICE can heal chronic ailments, including arthritis. It can be argued that MICE
has one side effect, stomachaches, this side effect is a good sign the
treatment was successful. When the user experiences stomachaches this is an
indication that the body is trying to release harmful toxins that have been
stored internally. This “side effect” can be taken care of very easily and
avoided by drinking plenty of water before and after treatments. MICE is an
incredibly new treatment, its full effects are yet to be reached. The potential
is has to heal is incredible especially considered how it can be used
simultaneously with other treatments. In fact, this treatment helps to enliven
other treatments to work properly and correctly. This allows the cells to use
the full intent of other therapies into the mending of the body.
One of the most overlooked holistic therapies is the action of deep meditation
or hypnosis. In her article entitled Complementary Therapies in Health Care,
Pamela van der Riet states, “meditation is now playing a significant and
therapeutic role in the health care of individuals and there is increased
interest in the use of meditation to deal with chronic symptoms, such as pain”
(van der Riet, Pamela). While meditation or hypnosis may seem like an
unreasonable way to deal with pain when contemplating the statement mind over
matter it becomes clear that if we can focus our attentions on curing ourselves
nothing is impossible. The mind is a complex muscle, by taking the strain off
of the brain and allowing it to focus on one pin pointed subject or
visualization a person can gain clarification regarding their situation in a
quality of life manner. More simply put this means that in order to become
better a person must first realize they have an illness or disease, etc. and
then accept that fact. Hypnosis is a way to easily allow the mind to find
clarity, as it is a state of deep relaxation. The act of hypnosis is not a
controlled action by a separate person; it is the person taking part in the
hypnosis finding stronger self-control. This is the root of why hypnosis and
meditation are so successful, the partaker is gaining control and self-will,
which allows them in some cases higher pain thresholds. Although a higher pain
threshold is not healing the body it allows the patient or person to have a
better quality of life at that time.
“The use of alternative medicine (AM) among human beings dates back before
Hippocrates and classical medicine. Each period in the evolution and
development of the human race has been characterized by its own diseases and
their methods of cure. The lack of appropriate drugs made people rely on
sorcerers and herbalists. However, in spite of the present use of modern
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, alternative medicine has not been
abandoned” (Nikolic, Ivan). The use of alternative medicines, procedures, and
therapies in fact is growing in favor, as we understand less and less about the
diseases and illness that plague our generational period. Alternative methods
can be used in conjunction with western medicine without harm and it is through
the use of both that the most effective healing and best results come about. In
conclusion, alternative methods can be a reliable way to bring about health and
quality of life that would otherwise be difficult to obtain as western medicine
does not rely on holistic ideals to heal, holistically healing allows all of
the aspects of a person’s life to come together to allow for perfect health.
